Sea Bream
Sea bream is one of the European fish that has been successfully farmed in Saudi Arabia. It was chosen for the following reasons
Its high tolerance to temperature variations
The availability of larvae in Saudi hatcheries throughout the year
Its high growth rates, with harvest occurring within 14 months (harvest weight 400-450 g)
It can be farmed at high densities without predation
It has a distinguished taste, is rich in Omega-3, and is very affordable
Sea Bass
Asian sea bass is also a fish that has been successfully farmed in Saudi Arabia. It was chosen for the following reasons
It can withstand high temperatures and salinity
Larvae are available in Saudi hatcheries year-round
It has a high growth rate, and harvesting occurs within 10 months (harvest weight 700-750 g)
It is used in diets for weight loss because it contains no saturated fats, only unsaturated fats such as omega-3
It has a distinguished taste and is very affordable
